Marcus Peter Francis du Sautoy OBE FRS /dʊˈsoʊtɔɪ/, is a British mathematician, author, and populariser of science and mathematics. In 2008, he was appointed to the Simonyi Professorship for the Public Understanding of Science at the University of Oxford where he is also a Professor of Mathematics. Formerly a Fellow of All Souls College, Oxford and Wadham College, Oxford, he is now a Fellow of New College, Oxford. He was previously President of the Mathematical Association, an Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council Senior Media Fellow, and a Royal Society University Research Fellow.
David Gerrold is an American science fiction screenwriter and novelist known for his script for the original Star Trek episode "The Trouble With Tribbles", for creating the Sleestak race on the TV series Land of the Lost, and for his novelette "The Martian Child", which won both Hugo and Nebula awards, and was adapted into a 2007 film starring John Cusack.

His best-known works include Demian, Steppenwolf, Siddhartha, and The Glass Bead Game, each of which explores an individual's search for authenticity, self-knowledge and spirituality. In 1946, he received the Nobel Prize in Literature.
