Richard Bartlett Schroder, Jr. is an American actor and film director. As a child actor, billed as Ricky Schroder, Schroder debuted in the film The Champ , going on to become a child star on the sitcom Silver Spoons. He has continued acting as an adult, usually billed as Rick Schroder, notably on the western miniseries Lonesome Dove and the crime-drama series NYPD Blue.

Manoj Nelliyattu "M. Night" Shyamalan is an American film director, screenwriter, author, producer and actor known for making movies with contemporary supernatural plots and surprise endings. He was born in Puducherry, India and raised in Penn Valley, Pennsylvania. His most well-received films include the supernatural horror thriller The Sixth Sense , the superhero thriller Unbreakable , the science fiction horror Signs , and the historical drama-horror film The Village . For The Sixth Sense, Shyamalan receieved a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Director. Afterwards, Shyamalan released a series of poorly received but sometimes financially successful movies, including, the dark fantasy film Lady in the Water , the horror thriller film The Happening , the film adaptation of The Last Airbender , and the science-fiction film After Earth . Following the financial failure of After Earth, Shyalaman's career was revived with the release of the found footage horror The Visit and the psychological horror Split , the latter of which is set in the same universe as his previous film Unbreakable. He was a producer for Devil and was instrumental in the creation of the Fox science fiction series Wayward Pines.
