Uwe Boll is a retired German filmmaker and restaurateur, whose work includes several films adapted from video games. He financed his own films through his Boll KG and Event Film Productions production companies. Many of his films were produced on low budgets and Boll himself had backed his projects financially or made use of crowdfunding platforms.
